The Nets defeat the Bucks in the fourth quarter thanks to a great performance.
Shake Milton, Noah Clowney, and Cameron Johnson each contributed 20 points, and the Brooklyn Nets, who were visiting, came back to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 111-105 on Thursday.
In the fourth quarter, Brooklyn outscored the Bucks 35–23, ending a two-game losing streak. Both Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo missed games for Milwaukee due to non-COVID-related illnesses. Keon Johnson’s 3-pointer with 3:40 remaining in the game gave Brooklyn their first lead since the beginning of the second quarter, 99-97.
Clowney converted one of his career-high six 3-pointers with 2:33 remaining to put the Nets ahead 102-99 after Khris Middleton tied the score for the Bucks. Johnson’s four-pointer with 47.9 seconds remaining put Brooklyn ahead 109-102. With 41.3 seconds remaining, Middleton answered with a 3-pointer, but Johnson’s two free throws sealed the victory. With 13 points from Nic Claxton and 12 from Johnson, Brooklyn made 16 of 38 (42.1%) 3-pointers.
Milwaukee’s top scorer, Middleton, scored 21 points, while Brook Lopez finished with 20 points and four 3-pointers. In addition to Bobby Portis’ 18 points, Gary Trent Jr. contributed 14 points off the bench. After falling behind six points at the beginning of the fourth quarter, Brooklyn rallied behind 14 of the first 16 points scored by Milton in the final quarter, cutting the deficit to 93-92 with 7:07 left.
At the end of the first quarter, the Bucks were behind 27–25 after committing seven turnovers. Clowney led the Nets with three 3-pointers in the first quarter. Lopez scored 18 points in the first half and made back-to-back 3-pointers with 6:30 remaining in the second quarter to put Milwaukee ahead 44-33.
After the Bucks increased their lead to 13 points with 2:19 left in the quarter, Brooklyn went on a 9–4 run to cut the deficit to 59–51 at the half. At the end of the third quarter, the Nets were behind 82-76 after making it a two-point game with five minutes remaining. Ziaire Williams (sprained left knee), Dorian Finney-Smith, and leading scorer Cam Thomas (strained left hamstring) were all sidelined for Brooklyn’s game.
